First of all New York is famous for the Statue of Liberty standing on Manhattan Island. It is interesting that this symbol of the USA is the present of France. The statue is hollow inside. There is a circular stairway from the base to the crown, and there is also a lift there. The statue stands on the east of Manhattan Island which is connected with Brooklyn by Brooklyn Bridge over the East River.
