The Royal Scottish Academy is the place where an anual exhibition is held from May until August. Not only Scottish painting, sculpture, and architecture but also works from other countries are shown there.

The National Gallery of Scotland contains many beautiful pictures, some of them of outstanding importance. There are pictures by Raphael, Rembrandt, Titian and others among them. The Gallery contains a complete collection of Scottish paintings.

In Edinburgh one can see the official residence of the Queen - the Palace of Holyroodhouse. When the Queen comes to Edinburgh she stays there. Some parts of the Palace are open to the public.
