GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF THE USA

The United States of America or the USA is the fourth largest country in the world (after Russia, Canada and China). It occupies the central part of North America and stretches from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. It borders on Canada in the north and on Mexico in the south. The total area of the country is about 9.5 million square kilometres. The population is over 250 million people. The capital of the USA is Washington D.C. (the District of Columbia). It is not the largest city of the country. It is not so large as New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
