TRAFALGAR SQUARE

Trafalgar Square is in the centre of the West End of London. In the centre of it there is the Nelson's Column with the statue of the great seaman on the top. The total hight of the monument is 184 feet (about 64,4 metres).

On the pedestal there are bronze bas-reliefs. They were cast from captured French cannons during the Nepoleonic wars. The bas-reliefs represent Nelson's most famous victories.

Four bronze lions guard the monument. This column is the work of the English artist Landseer.
